You probably know the benefits of cider vinegar, but did you dare to use it to make caramel?
Yes yes, you can make a caramel with cider vinegar and thus reduce the impact on blood sugar.
And you know what ? it's too too good.
Ingredients for 4 persons:
For the cream:
- 330mL almond milk
- 20g coconut sugar
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 sachet of agar agar (1g)
For the caramel apples:
- 3 small apples
- 35g coconut sugar
- 30g margarine or butter
- 2 cases of Les 3 chouettes cider vinegar
For the topping:
- Elsy marbles
- slices of apples or other seasonal fruits
Preparation of the cream:
- In a saucepan, put the almond milk, agar agar, coconut sugar and vanilla and mix.
- Bring to a boil then turn off the heat.
- Place the mixture in small ramekins.
- Leave to cool then place in the fridge.
5. Peel the apples and cut them into small cubes.
6. Put the margarine and the coconut sugar in a saucepan.
7. Leave on the heat until the sugar and margarine are well melted.
8. Add 2 spoonfuls of cider vinegar and heat over low heat.
9. Add the soy cream (this must be warm before being incorporated) and mix.
10. Add the apples and cook over low heat for 5 minutes, covered.
11. Turn off the heat but leave the mixture in the saucepan with the lid on.
12. Leave the preparation to cool completely before moving on.
Assembly of the dessert:
13. Check that the cream has hardened sufficiently before taking it out of the fridge.
14. Add the apple and caramel mixture.
15. Add a gourmet and healthy topping with pieces of dark chocolate Elsy balls!
